User guide

How to get things done in PoreStore, one tool at a time. Each tool's page says what it's for, how to run it, what every setting on its form does, what it returns, and what to do when something goes wrong. Its Science link leads to the equations and methods behind it in the Scientific reference.

New to PoreStore? Start with the Getting started tour, which takes one image from upload to results.

How the app is organised

  • Images is your team's library. Upload, import and export images here, set their voxel size, and open any image to see its details and the jobs run on it. See Images.
  • Tools lists every tool by category, as the sections below do. Open a tool, choose an image or a batch of images, and select Run. Tools also open from an image's page, with that image already chosen.
  • Jobs lists everything your team has run, with each job's status and result. See Jobs and results.

Everything runs in the cloud. Nothing runs on your computer, so you can launch and manage jobs from your phone, and close the browser while they run.

Two conventions to know

  • 0 is solid, and the other value is pore. A boolean, a 0/1 and a 0/255 image of the same sample give the same results; see Segmented images. If your segmentation has them the other way round, swap them with Adjust Values.
  • X, Y and Z are the image's own axes, in the order the file stores them. PoreStore never turns or flips an image, so "flow along X" follows the first axis of the file you uploaded.
